I Love Jane Carters book I have became more fan of his Nick Carter I had Major crush on him since Highschool I still do I would love to meet him in person I forgot how many time read it back in highschool and I could not put it down I wish I would meet a P rince charming like him.
I love nick Carter and I have been looking for this book for a long time
I was really excited when I saw this book and decided to order it. Honestly though it doesn't talk about Nick Carter that much. Mostly it talks about Jane Carter. She does discuss Nick Carter but we learn more about her and his family than him. It was boring. I couldn't keep reading it. I had to take breaks because I kept falling asleep. Save your money don't buy this.
If you thought you knew all there is to know about Nick Carter, think again! Jane Carter tells us some stuff about her son that only she and the rest of Nick's family know about. This is a very nice book, beautifully written by Jane. It is full of secrets and anecdotes about Nick's childhood and rise to superstardom. However, the information about Nick's career may seem kind of old, now, since this book was published in 1998. Perhaps Jane should have waited a couple of years before writing a book about her son, because God knows she would have plenty of things to say : she could give her opinion on Nick's arrest, his solo career, the trials and tribulations that the Backstreet Boys have been through, Nick's relationship with Willa Ford (yeah right, like Nick would let her write about that!!), etc. Nick's been through a lot of things since 1998, and I believe that if Jane decided to write another book about Nick, it would have a lot more substance and depth than this one. But don't get me wrong! It's a great read, as pleasant as a fairytale. Because, in many ways, that's what Nick's life is! And seeing it through his mother's eyes really gives it a whole new dimension.
First things first, this is not a Backstreet Boys biased review.Rather, it's a long-time-comming story of a mothers love for her child that was AFFORDED some well-deserved publicity by the Backstreet Boys' stardom. There are so many "How to" books on child rearing that line the shelves, and some contradict others.Listen folks, child rearing is not something that is as simple as baking a cake. Here Jane Carter shares with - yes Backstreet fans, particularly Nick Carter fans - about how she helped her son cultivate and attain his dream. She shares of how she would teach him the things he would need to know to make it in life and oh yes, of how she loved her son, and thats the sweetest part about this story - a mother's love for her son (or daughter).Listen parents, and parents to be. You bring children into this world, so don't expect schools alone to educate your kids. It's up to you, your kids belong to you and will trust you first in their lives. This is why I find this book very good reading whether it's about a Backstreet Boy or an aspiring Bronco football player.
I love the Backstreet Boys and I've been a huge fan since '97, and I'm an even MORE huger fan of Nick Carter. THE HEART AND SOUL OF NICK CARTER: SECRETS ONLY A MOTHER KNOWS is one of the best books you can find on Nick Carter. Though it's a little out-dated now I believe (the book was made in like, '98 and the Backstreet Boys since then have done a lot more plus made two new albums MILLENNIUM and BLACK & BLUE), I still think this book gives an accurate bio of Nick and his amazingly talented family.There is not one dull or boring moment while reading this book. Jane Carter carefully describes what their family life was like both in the past and present, along with the ancestors and family relatives. When you're reading this book, you really do feel like you're apart of the "Carter Clan", as Jane calls her family. You'll laugh and cry and cheer throughout this book. And even though I'm a huge fan and have never been to a Backstreet concert or seen them live in person, I now feel a lot closer to Nick Carter, and not just him, but to Kevin, AJ, Brian, and Howie as well.Jane Carter also writes about the troubles she and Nick went through while going to auditions, performing in front of audiences during Nick's pre-Backstreet years, and even meeting AJ and Howie for the first time. She also writes about the very first song Nick ever sang to her - "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" - and why that was so important to her. She writes about the ups and downs her family had to go through to help Nick achieve his dream as a successful entertainer, which I think he has now successed!Besides, the fabulous well-written bio, she also adds a ton of family photos for us fans to look at and enjoy and even a Nick Carter quiz at the ending (I took it and got a perfect score without even looking at the answers!). This book will answer all of your Nick Carter questions. And though it may only be for Nick Carter fans, I'm sure many Backstreet fans will enjoy this as well. I actually think you don't even need to be a Backstreet fan to enjoy this book. Maybe if you read it you would understand Nick Carter and his Backstreet fellas and would start to appreciate him more and see him as a real person. I also don't think Jane Carter brags about her son; she is proud of his major accomplishments and what he has done for the family. And she isn't afraid to show it.I think Jane Carter and Bob Carter are the perfect role models for parents everywhere. They show love and affection to their family and to each other. They try to help achieve their childrens' dreams and do not discourage them. They do not do drugs or commit violence or abuse each other or their children. The Carter Clan is a beautiful family and very gifted and talented. I think they should all be respected and people should stop trashing them because that is just wrong when you don't even know a thing about them. Maybe after you read THE HEART AND SOUL OF NICK CARTER you will change your mind about trashing this family and start to respect them. Great read. I loved all the photos. If you're a fan of books then this is definitely one you must try!
this book is very good and gives great detail on his early life and now but it is now considered outdated (it's from 1998) but it still gives a great deal. The pictures are just ADORABLE and Nick looks oh-so-cute in the younger ones.But...it's definately not as good as the one Jane Carter wrote on her 13-yr-old son Aaron Carter (Aaron Carter, Surfin' USA, Aaron's Party (Come Get It) and Oh Aaron-he has quite a few credits to his name including 15 music videos, fimlography and and 4albums). The AC one is much more interesting and gives a lot of heartache and sentimental moments than this one and her writing skills have improved much and she doesn't brag as much on this one as with Nick Carter.Great book, if you're a NIck Carter fan pick it up but if you just wanna pick it up to see if it has nething to do with Aaron, no, it doesn't, except mentioning a few times that he's starting his career (he had only released1 album abck then)
