This is a new series by this author. A fun story about fairies living in New York City. There is good world building and interesting characters. The lead female and male are exciting and fun and you get into following what happens to them.
Seline felt alot like a old friend Amber Lee Katerina was back and book is the best work she has done. I loved all the other books she has written. Full of imagery and detail.Got to know Selina and Fate and Rey. Looking forward to future encounter s.
This book is similar to other books by Katrina. This book the main character, Seline, can do magic, but only with great physical pain. So when Seline needs to solve problems she has to do it normally without magic. This makes the book an interesting read.
Loved the new departure. Please keep it coming. Concept was fresh. So much continuous action going on, made it so quick to read.
This book was a decent enough read. The world building was interesting. The main character was a bit immature, and I don't remember reading any indication of her age. We're just told the length of time she's been on earth. I did get annoyed several times when she'd be blathering when she needed to take action. She was chastised about that issue towards the end by one of my favorite characters, so that was amusing. She also makes some pretty dumb decisions, even when blatantly warned about it. Seline just feels really naive at some points, when she's supposedly lived a rough life and feels herself to be worldly and jaded. The blurb at the end of the summary on the store page mentions sizzling romance being in this book, but I've yet to see it. There was some lust at certain points, but no romance or even outright flirting. You get the sense that they seem to be attracted to each other, but nothing develops. Maybe the book was too short for their slight attraction to become more; it certainly wasn't enough to be listed as a feature of the book. The romance aspect listed for this book is something I would label as misleading. I do expect it will likely flourish in the next book, so the description will be more apt for that book's summary. As mentioned in the title, this book needs editing. Errors consist of typical spelling errors, incorrect comma and apostrophe usage, incorrect capitalization, incorrect tenses, and missing words. Hopefully these issues can be corrected in the next book before it is published. If you are looking for a decent, light read and interesting world, with significant potential to be a good series, I would recommend giving this book a chance.
I just could not get into this book. The premise that they are from another dimension and fell through a rift and can't remember their time in the other side is pretty cool and I like that there are natives (like vampires etc). What I didn't like is that our MC seemed juvenile to me. She and draven had unnecessary moments of fighting against each other. Mostly I got annoyed when she just gave up the stone so dang easily after having been told she absolutely shouldn't do it and then had the nerve to resist giving draven information on where he can begin to look for it. basically, a lot of the scenes just seemed forced into the book to further the plot. she just made dumb choices. There's intrigue into what the mc can do (but no hint as to why she was magicless) but I just felt there was too much that needed explaining. No sex or intrigue (but hints that she and draven are attracted to each other), no cussing.
Holy wow! This is a completely different take on supernatural creatures. The detailed descriptions painted vivid pictures in my mind - I could see the story happening as I read it. The plot twists and turns and doubles back on itself leaving the reader wondering just what exactly is going to happen next. My mind boggles at how I'm supposed to put into words just how amazing this was without giving away the best parts of the plot. That's made even more difficult for me because there weren't any bad parts. There’s a lot to the feel of this story that makes me wonder, if at some point in the future, we’re going to learn that this is a sister series to Prometheus…? I look forward to finding out and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
I can't wait until the next book is out for The Obsidian Order series. I found this to be a great escape with my imagination.I do want to point out that there is a lot of discrepancies in grammar. I'm not sure who edited this but it would be wise to go back through it and fix it up. I'd love to order a hard copy but I won't when the editing is bad.I'm sorry for bringing that up but I figured it would be best to be truthful instead of glancing over it.Keep up the series. I can't wait for the next adventure with Selina and Draven.
